Idea'sHive welcomes you. A platform for discussing some of the complex phenomenon in technology and business and breaking them down as granular as possible to be relatable to everyone.
“I have an idea to make the world a better place…” Hold on a bit.
Take a look at where you are seated right now, the device you are reading this from, the outfits you have on, the tools, gadgets and so on. They are all end products of ideation.
As an experienced software engineer, many of my colleagues were surprised when I opted to further my academics by opting for the Master of Business Administration. I had believed that there is only so much that our technical skills could achieve, and to be a better creator, I wanted to understand more about the business side of things.
Technology itself is not what is making a difference in our current world, but the correct application of it. There is a need to understand the problems we are trying to solve and determine if technology can actually make such problems go away, in such cases, we can then work around products that can address such identified problems.
A common mistake some of us made at the beginning of our career was thinking about a problem that we thought needed a technology solution, then instinctively going ahead to spend countless resources, and hours writing codes before deploying our self-acclaimed solution and finding out that it was a problem the market didn’t actually care about and subsequently making customer acquisition herculean.
It can then be implied that there is more to making the world a better place than just writing and deploying codes. There is market research, requirements analysis, feasibility study, analysis, design, product management, route to market design, implementation, product marketing, product scaling, and so much more. Now I hope we are getting a clearer picture of what I am talking about.
Subsequently, I will be writing about these different stages in a product lifecycle and the best practices to adopt to ensure that in-demand products are launched into the market.
Let’s go on this journey together!

Thank you for this inspiring and educative write-up, Abiodun.
As you rightly pointed out, there is much more to making the world a better place than just writing and deploying codes. A successful product requires a thorough understanding of the market needs, customer requirements, and a well-thought-out product strategy that covers all stages of the product lifecycle, from ideation to scaling.
I'm looking forward to reading your future writings on the different stages of the product lifecycle and the best practices for launching successful products into the market. I believe this will be a valuable information for anyone interested in creating products that meet real market needs and are in high demand.
I wish you all the best.
